CONSOLIDATION OF THE OIL AND FAT INDUSTRY IN POLAND
The key objective of the consolidation of the oil and fat industry as initiated by ZT “Kruszwica” S.A. in 2006 is to improve the company’s competitive advantage on Polish and European markets in the following fields:
The first stage of the consolidation process was a merger of ZT “Kruszwica” S.A. with Ewico Sp. z o.o. (currently a manufacturing plant in Brzeg), ZPT Olvit Sp. z o.o. (currently a manufacturing plant in Gdańsk) and Olvit-Pro Sp. z o.o. (shareholder in ZPT w Warszawie S.A. at that time) and was formally concluded on December 13th, 2006. The merger resulted in the establishment of Zakłady Tłuszczowe “Kruszwica” S.A., the largest processor of oil seeds and manufacturers of vegetable fats in Poland and one of the largest in Central Europe.
The final stage of the consolidation process was the merger of ZT “Kruszwica” S.A. and ZPT w Warszawie S.A.
On June 20th, 2008, the Management Boards of ZT “Kruszwica” S.A. and ZPT w Warszawie S.A. concluded an agreement regarding a merger plan for the two companies, and as a result the merger is planned to take place in Q1 2009.
